Do you ever experience those moments where you are in this season of anticipation? Those moments where you look ahead and can see many things you want to do, skills and knowledge you hope to gain. But looking at where you are currently, you see there is still so much to learn. I think this season of anticipation defines where I am at right now.
The more I discover about health communication and what it entails, the more excited I become. But I also am realizing there is still a lot I need and want to learn to be able to be affective in what I’m hoping to do. There will be a lot of hard work involved to cover the amount of ground in the near future. Yet I think the work will be worth it. It won’t necessarily be a walk in the park, but then is anything worth achieving ever easy?
What is nice about this learning process is that each new project builds off of what I’ve already learned. It’s kind of like building blocks, though a bit more complex.
Here’s a glimpse into some of these areas of growth I have in mind:
Adobe Illustrator, InDesign, & Photoshop
Website and mobile device use in health promotion
Writing in health communication
Communication methods for different populations
Even with having varying degrees of knowledge and skills in these areas, they can still be further developed. I know, these are all fairly big categories. But I hope to write more posts in the future about this process and what I learn along the way.
