I think I can officially say I'm becoming a public health nerd. A few weeks ago one of my professors connected me with a peer who gave me some feedback on learning more about the field of health communication. In our emails, she recommended a book to me. And when I looked it up, I immediately wanted to read it. The funny thing is, this was actually a textbook. While I enjoy reading nonfiction, I've never been the kind of person to go out buying textbooks for fun. Other books, all the time. But not really textbooks.
Since discovering the field of health communication, I've had a desire to discover as much as I can. I feel this is a passion developing for me. And this book, Communicating About Health by Athena du Pré, seemed to be exactly what I have been wanting to read, to learn more and to gain new insight.
The book arrived in the mail today and I've only skimmed through it. But I'm excited to start and I look forward to sharing what I learn along the way.
